EcoVadis medals and badges recognize companies that have successfully completed the EcoVadis Sustainability Rating assessment and demonstrated a strong sustainability management system relative to other assessed companies.

EcoVadis-Medaillen

Platinum Medal

A recognition awarded to the Top 1% of companies assessed by EcoVadis in the 12 months prior to the medal issue date.

Gold Medal

A recognition awarded to the Top 5% of companies assessed by EcoVadis in the 12 months prior to the medal issue date.

Silver Medal

A recognition awarded to the Top 15% of companies assessed by EcoVadis in the 12 months prior to the medal issue date.

Bronze Medal

A recognition awarded to the Top 35% of companies assessed by EcoVadis in the 12 months prior to the medal issue date.

How EcoVadis Medals are Awarded

EcoVadis medals are awarded based on the percentile rank of a company which is calculated at the time of scorecard publication. It compares a company’s performance with all companies assessed by EcoVadis over the previous 12 months across all industries worldwide—not within a specific sector.

Medal thresholds are defined as follows:

  • Platinum: Top 1% (99+ percentile)
  • Gold: Top 5% (95+ percentile)
  • Silver: Top 15% (85+ percentile)
  • Bronze: Top 35% (65+ percentile)

To be eligible for a medal, companies must achieve a minimum score of 30 in each of the four themes: Environment, Ethics, Labor & Human Rights, Sustainable Procurement.

EcoVadis Badges

  • Committed Badge
    A minimum score of 45, representing ‘Good’ performance in the EcoVadis methodology.
  • Fast Mover Badge
    A score between 34-44 with a minimum 6-point improvement compared to the previous assessment in an 18-month period.

How EcoVadis Badges are Awarded

EcoVadis badges are awarded based on specific score-based thresholds, recognizing companies that demonstrate meaningful performance or improvement but do not qualify for a medal.

Both medals and badges are subject to additional eligibility criteria beyond score and percentile thresholds.

What EcoVadis Medals and Badges Do Not Represent

  • An EcoVadis medal or badge is not a certification or product label.
  • It does not attest that a company’s products or services are sustainable or more sustainable than another company’s.
  • It is not an endorsement of a company’s products or services by EcoVadis.

Scope & Validity

EcoVadis medals and badges are only applicable to the assessed entity and not to any affiliated entity such as a parent or sister company, site, or subsidiary.

Validity

EcoVadis medals and badges are valid for 12 months, in line with the validity period of the scorecard on which they are awarded.

How to Earn an EcoVadis Medal or Badge

Create an EcoVadis account and define your company profile and scope.

Submit the required information and supporting evidence across the four themes:
Environment, Ethics, Labor & Human Rights, and Sustainable Procurement.

Your responses are evaluated by EcoVadis experts using a standardized methodology.

Based on your score, percentile rank, and other eligibility criteria, your company may earn an EcoVadis medal or badge with the scorecard.

Recognition is subject to scoring and eligibility requirements.

How Companies Can Use Their EcoVadis Medals and Badges

EcoVadis customers with an active Premium, Select, or Corporate subscription can share their EcoVadis medal or badge publicly to showcase sustainability performance, strengthen credibility, and engage stakeholders.
